• Submit an annotated bibliography with a minimum of 10 journal articles published after 2010. 

  • Please base your bibliography on the research questions your group has created. You will use this bibliography to build out the introduction of your paper!

Please follow the steps below to complete your annotated bibliography. 

1. Choose your sources
2. Must be empirical journal articles published between 2010-2022
3. Use GoogleScholar (Links to an external site.) (NOT regular google) or the Cuyamaca Library Database (Links to an external site.). Make sure to select only peer-reviewed articles.
4. Sources must be on a topic related to your research question
5. Review the articles you choose and organize them alphabetically by the last name of the very first author. 
6. Write the citation (the complete APA style citation)

Write the annotation. In 200-250 words per annotation include (everything must be in your own words. Do not use quotes from the article, summarize it yourself):

• The purpose of the work 
• A summary of its content 
• A summary of the methodology and findings
• Strengths or weaknesses of the study/ areas of future research
• Relevance to your specific research question 

Do not use quotations

• As stated previously, quoting an empirical article is not scientific writing.
• If you review almost any psychological journal article you will see that quotations are rarely used (usually only when a very specific term needs to be defined).
• Quoting something does not mean you understand it. I can only tell whether you understand something if you use your own words.
• You will not receive credit if you use quotations 
• As a reminder, copy and pasting from another source is plagiarism and is considered academic misconduct.
