Library Mission

The Library's Mission: Our mission is to assist students in developing the information literacy skills they need in order to complete their academic goals. The Cuyamaca College Library supports student learning by offering a strong library instruction program, a relevant library collection, efficient circulation and technical services and library study spaces.

The College Mission: Cuyamaca College advances equity and social justice through student-centered and innovative approaches to education. We strive to create unique and meaningful learning experiences that build upon the strengths and socio-cultural experiences of our diverse student population and the communities we serve by providing programs that lead to certificates, degrees, transfer, career opportunities, and ultimately social and economic mobility.

Program Review Goals

To achieve this mission, CC Library commits to these four goals listed below. CC Librarians assess services to determine if the Cuyamaca students research needs are being met. The research needs of the students should be adequate at this point in time. 

Goal 1: LIBRARY INSTRUCTION - Integrate information literacy instruction and resources into acceleration programs and guided pathways initiatives.

Goal 2: LIBRARY TECHNOLOGY - Investigate and evaluate new emerging library technologies for effective discovery of information.

Goal 3: LIBRARY COLLECTIONS - Integrate library collections into academic programs and guided pathways initiatives.

Goal 4: LIBRARY SERVICES and SPACES - Improve library services and spaces that allow students to study and research.
